Local worship leader and singer/songwriter, Jay Jones, will be releasing a worship album entitled All I Need this Friday night.
The CD release concert will be Friday, March 11, 2016, starting at 7 p.m. at River City Church (4810 Frederica St).
Jones is getting a little help from his friends in the River City worship team and local rapper, Colt Graves, who will also be performing.
“This has been a long time coming and I can’t wait to see what is in store,” Jones said, of the process of recording All I Need. “With this being my first album, I really wanted everything to be quality, so we took our time with it.” The album was recorded at The Sound Lair recording studio in Knoxville, TN, which Jones discovered through Colt Graves.
Jones describes the album as Christian rock contemporary worship. He wrote all the songs himself and says all but two of them came together in 2015, which was obviously a big writing year. “God placed things in my life, so I would dive into scripture and the lyrics just came,” he explained.
The song “Anthem of Praise,” for example, was written after Jones and his wife experienced a miscarriage.
“God’s been preparing me for this next season in my life. This seems to be the right time for this album. I’m excited to see what happens,” Jones said.
Jay is also teaming up with “Sawyers Warriors” to benefit a little boy named Sawyer who is in need of a liver transplant. 25% of the proceeds will be going to the fundraiser.
The CD release show is free and open to all ages.
