Good news first: The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet told Owensboro Living this week that the US 60/Wendell Ford Expressway resurfacing project is still progressing as planned. And they are still predicting a completion date in mid November as originally announced. So that’s the good news.
The bad news is that it’s time for the next ramp closure. The westbound US 60 Exit 12 ramps to and from KY 2698/Carter Road will be closed for paving Saturday morning, September 26, 2015, from 6:00 a.m., CDT, to approximately 10:00 a.m.
The Traffic Advisory explains it in more detail:
“To prepare for this Saturday morning closure, a milling crew will be working along the ramps on Friday starting at approximately 9:00 a.m., CDT. During the milling on Friday the ramps will remain open with traffic flow controlled by flaggers. Some delays are likely during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the milling work on Friday.
The US 60 Exit 12 westbound exit and entry ramps for KY 2698/Carter Road will then close to all traffic starting at 6:00 a.m., CDT, on Saturday, and remain closed for about 3 to 4 hours for paving.
All westbound ramps to and from US 60 at US 431/Frederica Street Exit 14 and KY 81/West Parrish Avenue Exit 11 remain closed along this work zone. That means during the Saturday morning westbound ramp closure at KY 2698/ Carter Road, all westbound entry and exit ramps will be closed along the US 60/Wendell Ford Expressway work zone between the US 231 Interchange and the Audubon Parkway Interchange at Owensboro.”
So be prepared for detours. But, thankfully, it should only take a few hours.
