Nancy Henry sent this information to Owensboro Living on our Facebook page this week and asked us to share it.
The Owensboro Humane Society is hosting the Don’t Press Paws event at The Boiler Room (Cigar Factory Complex, 1100 Walnut St. #10) on Saturday, September 26th, 2015. It will take place between 11am – 7pm.
“This is the first year for this event, so we don’t really know what to expect,” said Henry, who is coordinating the event. The goal is to raise money and awareness for the Humane Society.
With all the businesses who donated to the silent auction, it looks like Nancy’s had some help putting the event together. The Don’t Press Paws event will include silent auction items from Famous Bistro, The Lure, Ozone, Star Trax, TJMaxx, Starbucks, True Value, Olive Garden, Headquarter’s Barbershop, The Earle, Buffalo Wild Wings, Oasis Tanning, Ritzy’s, Burger King, Owensboro Music Center, Trader Baker’s Mall and many more. All together, those items total over $1,000 worth of donations.
There will also be live entertainment by Tommy Dastardly and the Notorious Backsliders, Amplified, James Lee, Bare Bonez, Smokin’ Joe & the Gents, Dashing Skull Club and DJ Betel.
Food will be provided by Odelia’s Catering, Old Hickory, Firehouse Subs, Fields, Brainfreeze Snocones, Ole South and Papa Johns.
“Admission is $3, but you get $1 off entry fee if you bring a large can of soft dog or cat food,” Henry said.
