Livewell featuring Flex 151 Announces New Location in Owensboro

Livewell featuring Flex 151, a boutique fitness and health studio, will open their second location in Owensboro, KY on December 17th, 2014 in the first floor Midtown Building located at 920 Frederica Street. The new location will feature Flex 151’s state of the art computerized strength training program while also providing their signature Upgrade Cafe organic, cold-pressed juices, specialty health food and skin products, holistic massage therapy, and other wellness services.

“We are excited to bring Livewell featuring Flex 151 to the Owensboro market for our second location. We have been very impressed with the progressive leadership and growth of Owensboro, especially with the improved health focus. We are excited to dial into the community and help with that health cause,” stated Shaun Angel, President and Owner.

Flex 151 is excited to represent a different kind of ‘gym’, a small-footprint; semi-private facility that offers affordable Certified Personal Training in semi-private sessions, with all appointments scheduled online or via an exclusive app. “A client once told me they could think of a million excuses to not go to the gym, but they couldn’t think of a single excuse to miss a 15 minute weekly workout. We fit into clients’ busy lives with a model that is centered on maximizing clients’ time while safely delivering real health results,” says Molly Angel, Co-Owner.

Shaun elaborates, “We believe in strength to be healthier in life, not for vanity or because we want to ‘bulk up’.  Our contribution is for simple over easy training methods.  Easy means little effort; simple means it’s not hard to understand or follow and anyone can do it.  Our simple program works your muscles, and both men and women need more muscle.  More muscle allows you to become stronger, look better, perform better and live longer.  Your body has a ‘use it or lose it’ principle when it comes to muscle. We safely use and strengthen muscle, no matter what your age of fitness levels, so you can get back to living life.”

To accomplish this important task, Flex 151 does not measure productivity in terms of hours in the gym or number of repetitions; the training program measures ‘time under tension,’ which is the amount of time the muscle is actually contracting, while moving through a safe and slow range of motion until exhaustion. All user settings are computer controlled and custom to the client’s current fitness level and then step-wise adjusted at their level for progression. The end result is that exercise becomes significantly more efficient, requiring less time and adequate recovery with greater progress. Coupled with their whole foods Livewell eating plan, Flex 151 is a big believer in progress, not perfection, and adheres to a firm ‘80% good eating, 20% cheat allowed’ philosophy. Clients love this over the standard ‘counting calories and deprivation’ message in the fitness industry.
