Greg Strahan has been named interim president & CEO of Owensboro Health. The decision was made during a special-called meeting of the Owensboro Health board of directors on Tuesday evening.
Strahan will assume interim responsibilities immediately.
“We are very pleased he has agreed to take on this role. This is the right decision to guide our health system,” said Deborah Nunley, chair of the Owensboro Health board of directors. The board’s decision to name Strahan as interim was based on careful consideration, dialogue and exchange. “Greg knows the organization and the market very well, so he can hit the ground running.“
Nunley added, “This board volunteers their time to ensure the system meets our goals of delivering high-quality healthcare and serving the community. We have a very strong senior administrative and management team, excellent medical staff, and employees – in which our board has the utmost confidence. We are excited about the future.”
Strahan has recently been working in a consultative role overseeing construction of its One Health outpatient facilities in Daviess, Henderson, Hopkins and Muhlenberg counties, scheduled for groundbreaking this spring. “I am grateful to the Board of Directors for this exciting opportunity to continue to serve this community and the region,” said Strahan. I love the hospital, this health system, its employees, physicians and the communities we serve. Together, we’ll continue to place our focus on quality, patient safety and delivering the highest standards of care in the nation. We have an excellent administrative team and leadership group, and I look forward to working with them to achieve the goals the Board has set out for us.”
