Jordan Ferguson has been named the head coach of the Lady Panthers girls’ varsity basketball team at Daviess County High School.
Ferguson is entering his eighth season as a basketball coach. His experience includes two years as seventh-grade boys’ basketball coach at Burns Middle School; three years as the freshman boys’ coach at Apollo High School; and was an assistant coach with the boys’ basketball programs at Daviess County and Owensboro Catholic high schools.
Ferguson said this is an exciting time for the Lady Panthers basketball program. “I want to continue to build upon this winning program,” he said. “I am very excited for this upcoming season and the team we will have. We have graduated some leadership and talent but return a great group of kids on and off the court. We are going to set the bar high and I plan to push the girls to get the most out of them as people and as players.”
DCHS athletic director Jeff Hurley said, “I am very excited for Coach Ferguson and our girls’ basketball program. Jordan is a very bright, knowledgeable, young coach who has a lot to offer our program. We have a tremendous group of young ladies returning and I am confident Jordan will be a good fit as we move forward.”
