An exhibition of paintings by Owensboro artist Ann Craddock Bruner will open with a reception at the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation Gallery on July 21, 2016, from 5 to 6 p.m.  The gallery is located on the second floor of the Chase Bank building at 200 East Third Street, and the public is invited to attend.

This exhibition continues the series of shows by area artists in the gallery and is presented through a partnership of the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art and the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation.

As an artist and educator, Bruner continues to leave a distinctive mark on regional art. She has taught art at all levels, including classes at Kentucky Wesleyan College and Owensboro Community and Technical College, and is retired after 30 years from Owensboro Public Schools.
Proficient in a variety of media, including watercolor, acrylics, and oil pastels, her works reflect an interest in regional landscapes. As an avid horsewoman, her works place a special emphasis on equestrian subjects.

She has studied with important American watercolorists, including the late president of the American Watercolor Society, Mario Cooper. Her academic training includes a Masters in Education with an emphasis in art from Western Kentucky University.

The recipient of numerous awards, she most recently received a Best In Show Award from the Ohio Valley Art League in Henderson. She has exhibited extensively in the region and has works featured in private, corporate and public collections, including the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art and Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

This exhibition will remain on display through the end of the year and many of the paintings are available for purchase.

The public may view the exhibition at the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation Gallery during office hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

For more information about the exhibition, contact the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art at 270-685-3181.
