J.T. Stewart, the producer of “4192 An Evening with Pete Rose” was in Owensboro this afternoon to announce he will be bringing the show starring Major League Baseball record-holder Pete Rose to the RiverPark Center on Friday, September 15, 2017.
The 90-minute show will begin at 8pm in the RiverPark Center’s Cannon Hall.
Stewart says the show will be “a theatrical event.” The set will be a baseball stadium theme. After the first pitch and the National Anthem, Rose will spend the next hour and a half telling stories from his life from playing baseball as a kid to eventually breaking Ty Cobb’s all-time hit record (which is what the number 4,192 refers to in the show’s title).
During the show, a video screen backdrop plays scenes from Rose’s life and career in the Major League. Stewart serves as moderator during the show. “It’s totally unscripted. We follow the mood of the crowd. Sometimes we pass out cards and the crowd can write down questions and sometimes we put a mic in the crowd for questions and answers, it just depends on how we’re feeling that night. No two shows are ever the same.”
According to Jared Bratcher, Sports Director for Owensboro Daviess County Convention and Visitors Bureau, there will be a limited amount (150) of V.I.P. tickets for a meet and greet cocktail hour with Rose before the show. Those tickets are $100.
Lower level tickets are $35 and balcony seats are $25. Tickets go on sale July 28, 2017, at OwensboroTickets.com.
This is the fifth year 4192 An Evening with Pete Rose has been traveling the country, booking about 15-20 dates a year. “This truly is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the people of Owensboro,” Stewart said.
