Ever been too busy to go anywhere for your lunch break? Or skipped your lunch to run errands?
Ever wish you could order takeout food to be delivered to your home?
Big O Takeout is here to help.
“People are becoming busier,” says co-founder Devin Taylor, who is a full-time realtor, husband, and father of four kids. “I’ve thought a million times that we’re too tired to cook after a long work day and want delivery but we’re not in the mood for pizza. This fills that void for people with similar thoughts.”
He also remembers working in a bank where many people would run errands on their lunch breaks and then eat at their desk later.
“After much research into Uber Eats, Grub Hub, and similar programs in bigger cities, we decided Owensboro is ready for it!” Taylor says.
Jonathan Brandle, who also owns Grime Stoppers, is the other co-founder. Jonathan’s mother runs a similar business in another town, so he has experience in the back end of the business. “We both have entrepreneur spirits, and we love serving Owensboro. We are extremely excited for the positive feedback we’ve gotten. So far people have loved it!”
Here’s how it works. You order online at BigOTakeout.com. First, pick a restaurant from the list and choose an item off their menu. Then place your order and the food will be delivered to your door within 30 to 60 minutes, according to the website. A five dollar service charge is added to the order. Tip for the driver is not included.
Taylor says the goal is to have 15-20 partnering restaurants by the end of the first year. Right now, participating restaurants include:
- Fetta,
- Pan Asian,
- El Toribio,
- Dunkin Donuts,
- Gene’s Health Food,
- The Lure,
- Bee Bops,
- and Gangnam Korean BBQ.
Big O Takeout is also in search of more delivery drivers as the business continues to increase. The drivers work like Uber drivers, so they choose their own hours.
