The Owensboro Family YMCA (900 Kentucky Parkway) is hosting “Healthy Kids Day” Saturday, August 1st, from 10am-2pm.
“This is just another way for us to try and make our community healthier,” said Chad Hart, Owensboro Family YMCA Wellness and Aquatics Director. “Our goal is to get kids active with fun activities like bounce houses, other than screentime. And it’s a fun thing for families to do together.”
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come, but the event also serves as a membership appreciation day and a new member welcome. Anyone who joins the YMCA that day will receive a special discount. Those who would like to are also asked to bring $10 worth of school supplies for an added discount. The school supplies will be donated to city and county schools, Hart said.
