Having too much to do used to not be much of a problem in Owensboro. But with all the new things happening around town it’s getting really hard to decide what to do sometimes. Take this weekend for example. Friday night is, of course, Friday After 5 featuring Larry Maglinger’s Rod Stewart tribute band “Infatuation.” There’s also a cult movie night at the Daviess County Public Library and Nathan Morris is playing at the Crème.
Then Saturday night is the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra’s annual “Concert on the Lawn” at Kentucky Wesleyan College. Downtown, the Beat Daddy’s are playing at the Overlook Stage for “Live on the Banks.” Out at Diamond Lakes the Lanham Brothers are having another Jamboree featuring Wayne Morris and Isaac Rhodes. Then way across town the other direction, Yellow Creek Park is hosting the “Glow in the Park” run.
This weekend is a good example of showing that Owensboro truly offers something for everyone: runners, movie buffs, and music lovers. We definitely can’t complain anymore that there’s nothing to do in Owensboro. Sometimes it’s like we have to just flip a coin. But no matter how you decide, with summer slipping away, this will be a great weekend to get out and do something.
