Ugly Christmas sweater parties have become very popular over the past several years. We are Downtown, the same group who hosted the Holiday Stroll, is taking a playful twist on the ugly Christmas sweater idea with their newest downtown event: the Ugly Christmas Sweater Shop Hop, which will be held on Wednesday, December 17th from 5-8pm.
The Shop Hop consists of shoppers collecting signatures by visiting participating businesses (similar to the Small Business Saturday passports given by the Chamber). By doing so, participants will be entered to win prizes from Downtown businesses. So far there are 19 downtown locations participating in the Shop Hop.
“The fun part is wearing your crazy ugly Christmas sweater,” says organizer Natasha Gaw. “Everyone who wears an ugly Christmas sweater can also get their photo taken at Dream Copy Photography for a chance to win a prize for creativity!”
We are Downtown is also sponsoring the Downtown Give & Receive Event. “Anyone who brings in a toy, hat, gloves, or a children’s gift to be donated to Christmas Wish will receive a discount or gift card to participating locations,” Gaw explained.
