Tickets are now on sale for the annual Empty Bowls of Owensboro fundraiser. This year’s event will take place Thursday, April 20, 2017, at 6 p.m. at the Saints Joseph and Paul Catholic Church Parish Hall, 514 East 4th Street.
This local event is part of a national movement to raise funds for those in need of food.
The mission of empty bowls is “Feeding Hungry People one Bowl at a Time.” Empty Bowls is a grassroots movement to help end hunger. One hundred percent of the proceeds stay in the community and go to local food pantries. The goal of the movement is to raise money to help organizations fight hunger, raise awareness about the issues of hunger and food security, and to help bring about an attitude that will not allow hunger to exist.

Each participant at the event will then use their selected bowl to receive one of four kinds of soup made available by local chefs and churches. Available this year will be one vegan soup and three non-vegan.
Student volunteers from the Brescia Clay Club will wash your bowl for you when you are finished and it is yours to take home at the end of the evening.
T-shirts and silent auction items will also be available at the event, including themed baskets and products from local organizations. A silent auction will be held from 6-6:45 and you must be present to win.
