From the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department: “There is a hoax post spreading that someone was at the Owensboro Sam’s club last evening and that two persons they describe as “Muslims” attempted to abduct their child. The post goes on to say that “police” didn’t care or do their job. The Owensboro Police Department never received such a call and would have handled such a call as extremely serious.”
The Sheriff’s Department later modified their posting: “Even though Neither the Sheriff’s Office, Nor the City Police Department was notified of the incident, The situation will be investigated.” They are no longer calling it a “hoax” but rather a “post”.
The Owensboro Police Department told Owensboro Living they are looking into the story and will release a statement soon.
