The suspect in yesterday’s home invasion case has now been identified as Kenneth Clay, 34 of Owensboro. According to Daviess County Corner Jeff Jones, the autopsy is complete. Clay died from multiple gunshot wounds.
The law enforcement officer involved in the police action shooting is Owensboro Police Officer Eric Flory. Flory is a seven year veteran of the Owensboro Police Department and has been placed on paid administrative leave, which is normal protocol for most police agencies when officers are involved in the use of force (police related shootings).
Kentucky State Police detectives have recovered the firearm Clay used. The pistol was a .45 caliber handgun which reported stolen from Evansville Indiana.
