In August of 2014, Owensboro joined together to mourn the loss of Taylor Widmer a student and football player at Apollo High School. In honor of Taylor, Buffalo Wild Wings will be inviting the community to celebrate his memory and unveil a permanent display dedicated to Taylor.
“We’re celebrating Taylor’s memory as we unveil his jersey,” said Travis Henning of Buffallo Wild Wings. “In addition, we will be donating ten percent of our overall sales on May 13th to the Taylor Widmer Memorial Scholarship.”
The first scholarship from the Taylor Widmer Memorial Scholarship will be given to a member of the 2016 graduation class, his graduation year.
“Although no amount of effort or action could ever make up for the loss the Widmer family and the Owensboro community has endured, we can gather to celebrate the life of such a admirable young man and we can truly make this an event to remember,” said Henning.
