ROMP, Lure Seafood & Grille and Gene’s Fresh Food Truck are teaming up to host a Derby party featuring a live broadcast of the race and live Bluegrass music in downtown Owensboro Saturday, May 7, 2016.
Talk Derby To Me will be hosted on the patio at Lure, a portion of Veterans Blvd and Mitch McConnell Plaza. Musical performances will feature ROMP artist and Nashville-based guitar player, Billy Strings, as well as One Fell Swoop, a new project lead by singer-songwriter, Mike Wheeler.
Guests are encouraged to dress in their best Derby attire.
Tickets are $17 per person in advance – $20 at the door – and include one Mint Julep or Lily Cocktail and a small gift.
A horseshoe tournament will be held throughout the event as well as several other contests including ‘Best Hat,’ and a Stick Horse Run for the Roses. A 50/50 raffle will be hosted to benefit the International Bluegrass Music Museum.
Prizes for the contests include a pair of weekend ROMP passes, gift certificates to Pure Barre, Lure, Genes Health Food, Blossoms, Gypsy Soul and more.
