The Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that the Chamber and Independence Bank have joined forces in the effort to encourage the Owensboro community to #shoplocal on Small Business Saturday, November 28.
The goal is to have the entire community out supporting our local businesses on this day. Besides supporting our local stores, shoppers will have numerous opportunities to win giveaways that include merchandise from several participating stores. In addition, several “Owensboro Celebrities” will be posted at various stores throughout the day to pose in selfies with shoppers.
Independence Bank will have pop up tents at both of their locations (Frederica Street and Hwy 54) from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Stop by either location to grab coffee and donuts; pick up the Shop Owensboro Map displaying our super star locations; and get your reusable Shop Owensboro shopping bags filled with discounts and goodies.

Stopping at the Chamber pop-ups is the first entry point for great giveaways! Several of the giveaways will be displayed at our Chamber pop-ups so shoppers can see the items they will have the chance to win from several contests happening throughout the day.
We will have shopping maps along with shopping passports for the day to encourage our community to support their local shops and businesses! Each shop will feature its own fun and will have a local celebrity on hand for our selfie contest.
The day is going to be a blast! Mark it on your calendar and make a commitment to shop local this holiday season. Shopping local can make a BIG DIFFERENCE in a community’s economy.
