With a play that looked like it came right off of Sportcenter’s Top 10, Owensboro High Schools defeated North Oldham in the final play of the KHSAA High School Semi-State Playoffs.
The Red Devils gave up a field go and had no timeouts in the last few seconds of the game. Quarterback Nick Locher launched a Hail Mary pass that was batted by the Mustangs at the 20-yard-line before going off Jahlil Barrett’s arm and was caught by KiShawn Walker who completed the 61-yard score to give OHS the 27-24 win.
OHS will move on to play in the KHSAA High School Football 4A State Championship on December 6 at 2:30 p.m. at Feix Field, Houchens/LT Smith Stadium on the campus of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green.
