Hurry, hurry, hurry, read all about it! Owensboro Parks will celebrate National Hot Dog Day, National Ice Cream Day and National Parents’ Day at the Owensboro pools.

  • Friday, July 14 – National Hot Dog Day, our patrons will receive a FREE Hot Dog coupon for each paid admission;
  • Sunday, July 16 – National Ice Cream Day, buy one get one FREE Ice Cream;
  • Sunday, July 23 – National Parents’ Day kids get in for $1.00 and parents swim for FREE!

2017 Happy Hour at the Owensboro Swimming Pool
It’s always 5 O’clock somewhere; but at Owensboro City pools, Happy Hour kicks off at 3:00 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 3:30 p.m. on Sundays. Enjoy a discount and come splash around for just $2.00 at Combest and Cravens Pools. This event runs all summer long unless pools are closed due to inclement weather.

Birthday Party Packages at City Pools
NEW for 2017! Celebrate your birthday at the pool. We have 3 party packages available:

  • Bronze Package: $7 per person – up to 10 guests (includes admission, drink and nachos), FREE pool admission for 2 adults, unlimited open swim for each guest, reserved table to serve cake and open presents, FREE pool pass for each guest – up to 10 guests. Party must be held during Public Swim Hours.
  • Silver Package: $115/hour (minimum of 2 hours), private use of the pool, certified lifeguards and an underwater camera for the birthday child.  Non-alcoholic beverages and food are allowed to be brought in for the party.
  • Gold Package includes: private use of pool for 2 hours. $285 (up to 10 guests) and includes a hot dog, chips and drink and also includes: certified lifeguards and a personal party attendant, an underwater camera for birthday child, cupcakes from “The Cupcakery (up to 10 guests), each additional guest $10 and a $50 non-refundable deposit required.

Pre-School Aquatics at Cravens Pool
Register  now for the last session offered for this summer; the deadline to register for session 4 (July 24-28) is July 14.  Classes begin at 5:00p.m. or 5:45p.m. Cost is $51 per session. Children will learn basic water skills and become comfortable in the water as they develop a readiness to swim.

Fee includes 30 minutes of instruction, 15 minutes of

  • 30 minutes of instruction,
  • 15 minutes of free swim,
  • 2 free passes to the Edge Ice Center and free swimming on Saturdays at either pool location.
  • During the last day of free swim, the participants will get to have a Super Hero & Princess Party in the water.

Swim Lessons at Combest Pool
The last session of Learn to Swim lessons for 5 years and up will begin at Combest Pool on July 24 and run through July 28.

Cost is $51 per session per person. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned swimmer, we have a class that will fit your needs. Classes range in skill levels and follow the guidelines and procedures set by the American Red Cross. Classes are offered at 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

  • 45 minutes of instruction,
  • 15 minutes of free swim (at 10:00 a.m. for morning classes and 5:45 p.m. for evening classes),
  • 2 free passes to the Edge Ice Center and free swimming on Saturdays.

In case of rain, make-up lessons are held the following week.
