The Ohio Valley Will Graham Celebration kicked off to a great start Friday night at the Owensboro Convention Center, where a crowd of over 2,000 enjoyed great music and an inspiring message. By 7pm nearly every seat in the ballroom was filled, except for the seats left empty by the large group of young people huddled at the front of the stage as rapper Dae-Lee warmed up the crowd. Musical group The Afters and worship leader Aaron Shust also performed and Will Graham, grandson of evangelist Billy Graham, proclaimed the Gospel.
Will Graham has been presenting crusade-style events, called Celebrations, since 2006 and has shared the hope and love of Jesus to hundreds of thousands through evangelistic outreaches across six continents. “No matter where I go in the world, I find that people have the same concerns and struggles,” Graham said in a press release. “They want to know that they have purpose. They want to know that there’s hope for the future. They want to know the meaning of life. They want security, both in this world and in the eternal sense. These are some of the issues that I’ll touch on during the Ohio Valley Celebration.”
Volunteers from 120 churches representing 10 denominations have been working together to make the Ohio Valley Will Graham Celebration a success this weekend. The Celebration continues Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 6pm.
