Owensboro-based Kentucky Building Systems is diversifying its operation and expanding into a new field of business, naming it Trifecta Steel, a steel fabrication division.
Trifecta Steel recently purchased an existing steel fabrication and welding facility with 17,000 square feet. Immediately requiring an additional 21,600 square feet for this new venture, the company has plans to invest $3 million over the next three years and hire at least 10 new full-time associates per year, adding 30 to the 28 currently employed.
“We are proud to bring these new fabrication and construction innovations to market, and equally proud to do it in Owensboro,” says company Marketing Director, Kristi Isenbarger.
To encourage the investment and job growth in Owensboro, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) preliminarily approved the company for tax incentives up to $320,000 through the Kentucky Business Investment program (KBI) and an additional $25,000 through the Kentucky Enterprise Initiative Act (KEIA).
“I am delighted that Trifecta Steel and Kentucky Building Systems are expanding in Owensboro,” said Owensboro Mayor Ron Payne. “The City of Owensboro is proud to partner with the company and the Commonwealth of Kentucky through the KBI program. This expansion and new investment further establishes Owensboro as a competitive manufacturing center.”
Kentucky Building System’s venture with Trifecta Steel presents a wealth of opportunity with recent investments in a new building, new manufacturing equipment, training opportunities and the industry’s most advanced software.
