Owensboro Museum of Science and History unveiled an original oil painting by Peter O’Neill at Independence Bank.
This work is inspired by the Owensboro Museum of Science and History 50th Anniversary and will be available for bidding during the “Solid Gold Celebration” Masquerade Ball.
Peter O’Neil is a “master of oil on canvas” with many works on display in the finest homes and galleries in America. He has been commissioned to create a work that celebrates the 50 years of OMSH service to our community and serve as a focal point for the Solid Gold Gala to be held October 29th at the RiverPark Center. The evening begins with cocktails & heavy hors d’oeuvres at 6:30 PM with live music and dancing beginning at 8 PM.
Entertainment will be supplied by Rock and Roll Pianos from Nashville, TN. This group of talented musicians is all the rage in Music City with their combination of great dancing music and entertainment. They even take requests! rockandrollpianos.com. Peter O’Neill will be on hand during the evening to greet guests and describe his work in detail.
Sponsored by the OMSH Board of Directors, this event is a fundraising effort to create new programs and continue our success in our community and region.
Dress is Black Tie optional, with an option to come in Masquerade Costumes. Mayor Ron Payne & his wife will be on hand to recognize the best Costumes of the night.
Food will be catered by Moonlite.

A children’s event “Boo Bash” will be hosted at the OMSH Playzeum during the event for the children of attendees. Boo Bash will be supervised by the Maximilian Montessori School. Parents can bring their children to the museum, enjoy their evening at the gala and know their children are ready when they head home. Age groups for this event are 3-5, 6-8, & 9-12. Boo Bash tickets are $30 for the first child, $20 for each additional child and can be purchased at owensborotickets.com until Oct. 21st.
