The Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph have created a new fundraising event, called “MapleFest at the Mount,” to replace the former “Mount Picnic.” But the Sisters have decided to postpone the first MapleFest another year and begin in 2018, due to a wonderful opportunity that presented itself.

A release this week says more details will be forthcoming in September about this new event, but “it is truly a God-inspired opportunity that will benefit the Ursuline Sisters and all those who’ve loved coming to Maple Mount through the years.”

However, the Mount Saint Joseph Raffle to benefit the retired Ursuline Sisters will continue this year.

The coinciding event, “Mount Crafts and Raffle” will take place in the Mount Saint Joseph Gymnasium from 1-3 p.m. Sept. 10, 2017. There will be quilts, craft items and jelly made by the Ursuline Sisters for sale. Old Hickory Bar-B-Que will sell a variety of food to eat there or take home. The day will culminate with the raffle drawing at 3 p.m.

Dan Heckel, Director of Communications for Mount Saint Joseph, says nothing has changed with the raffle. For $5 a ticket, you can have a chance to win $10,000! There are also cash prizes of $3,500, $1,000, $500, $250 and $100. A handmade quilt valued at $1,000 will also be raffled. The raffle is the biggest fundraiser of the year to support our retired Ursuline Sisters.

For raffle tickets, see any Ursuline Sister, or contact Maggie Matsko at 270-229-2009, or [email protected].
