A contractor plans to close KY 603/The Pleasant Valley Road Connector at the Hayden Road Intersection in Owensboro starting Monday, July 17, 2017.
This closure of KY 603/The Pleasant Valley Road Connector at the Hayden Road intersection for about 3 weeks is to allow reconstruction and realignment of the curved section into a “T” intersection as part of the Gateway Commons development project. This closure of KY 603 is immediately south of the US 60 Exit 19 Interchange at Owensboro.
This closure of KY 603/The Pleasant Valley Road Connector is expected to be in place until about August 5, 2017. There will be a marked detour via Pleasant Valley Road, KY 144/South 4th Street, and Daniels Lane.
Once the roadway reopens around August 5th, there will be temporary stop signs for southbound traffic on Hayden Road and traffic on KY 603/Pleasant Valley Road with traffic required to stop at this intersection. The northbound leg of Hayden Road will remain closed until late this year or early next year when a new traffic signal will be installed and the remainder of Hayden Road is likely to open.
Envision Contracting is the prime contractor. This realignment of the KY 603/Pleasant Valley Road Connector and Hayden Road intersection is being scheduled so as to minimize disruptions to traffic once school starts this fall.
