When Donnie Dortch left the offices of Glenn’s Family Services thirteen years ago he was so pleased that President Glenn Taylor had agreed to sponsor the very first Gospel on the River series of six free concerts. But he had misunderstood. Glenn agreed only to sponsor the first single concert, not the entire season.
The success of the first one went on to ensure a decade’s long partnership to bring top level gospel entertainers to Friday After 5.
“We’ve brought back all of the favorites,” explains Dortch, “and we have some new, exciting groups that will join us this summer.”
The gospel series is part of Friday After 5, Owensboro’s summer-long free festival. Six of those Fridays include “Glenn’s Gospel on the River” performances inside Cannon Hall at the RiverPark Center.
