Edward Jones again is inviting the community to join them for the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the nations largest event to raise awareness and funds to aid vital research and essential support programs to help fight Alzheimer’s disease.

The Owensboro event will take place Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 10am at Smother’s Park.

Registration begins at 9am. Opening ceremonies at 9:45am and the two-mile walk begins at 10am.

Edward Jones is the national sponsor for Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Owensboro event coordinator David Renshaw, a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones here in Owensboro, says it is a cause worth fighting for. “Our clients fighting Alzheimer’s say it is destroying their relationships with others. Edward Jones is in the business of creating relationships for 95 years. Clients tell us Alzheimer’s is destroying their family member’s wealth, and we are in the business of creating wealth. We are not willing to stand by and watch clients lose loved ones and lose their hard earned savings.”

“The Alzheimer’s Association fits our business philosophy of supporting the communities where we live and work. We consider the needs of older adult investors and help clients prepare for the unexpected, including financial security for late in life when a long-lasting disease can destroy savings,” adds Edward Jones Branch Office Manager Kassi Rogers. “In the end, it really is about being a partner to raise awareness, advancing care, support and research. So many are affected.”

Groups and individuals are participating and supporting the cause with donations. Over 400 participants and 53 teams have registered so far, with a collective total over $39,000.
