Honk! the musical, has been written to enable both large and small theatre groups to perform this delightful show. With its universal message, it is for adults and children alike.

Back Alley Musicals will be auditioning for four to six men and four to six ladies. In addition, BAM will audition children in grades 3 – 8 for parts as ducklings and froglets, with older students possibly performing older barnyard characters.

For children/student parts, auditions will be Saturday, Feb. 25, beginning at 9 a.m.

Auditions for adult parts will be Monday and Tuesday evenings, Feb. 27 and 28, at 6 p.m.

Location: Third Baptist Church, back lobby entrance, 527 Allen St., Owensboro, KY.

A keyboard accompanist will be available at auditions. Character needs and audition music is posted on the Back Alley Musicals’ website at backalleymusicals.net.

Ron Waite will direct with Jordan Key as his assistant director. Performances will run April 20-23 in the Jody Berry Theatre, RiverPark Center.

Honk!is a full-length musical adaptation of one of the most beloved fables of all time, Hans Christian Anderson’s The Ugly Duckling. A baby swan named “Ugly” looks quite a bit different from his duckling siblings, a fact not lost on the other barnyard animals. Follow Ugly on his journey of self-discovery in a tale that also incorporates a message of tolerance. Honk! is written for a broader audience and has more songs that the well-known junior version, which is for younger audiences. Music by George Stiles. Lyrics and book by Anthony Drewe.
