It’s nothing official yet, but Captain D’s franchise owner, Shawn Eby, says he’s very interested in a couple properties along the 54 corridor. If things go his way, he’ll open a new Captain D’s in Owensboro within the year.
But wait a minute, didn’t Captain D’s just close an Owensboro location?
Captain D’s Senior Director of Franchise Development, Mark Levis, explained that the Frederica location was a corporate-owned store. That closure was an issue of location.
But Eby, whose franchise group, Goalz Restaurant Group, LLC, plans to open five locations in Charlotte, North Carolina; five in Kentucky; and another location in Wyoming, is excited about bringing the chain back to Owensboro. “We want to be in the Owensboro market because there is so much happening, especially in the new development on 54.”
Eby says he’s confident he and his team can “give the best customer experience in our restaurant, which is what they deserve.”
When the store opens, he expects to hire 35-40 employees.
