“What Every Parent Should Know About Social Media Challenges” will be presented by Trooper First Class Corey King from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 17, at Burns Middle School.

King, a 17-year veteran of the Kentucky State Police, will share information relevant for parents, guardians, grandparents and caregivers of children of all ages and grade levels. Topics will include identifying popular social networking sites, identifying texting codes and what they mean and general internet safety awareness. King will also share information about local criminal cases involving minors and social media.

Those attending the program should be advised that some of the information shared may not be appropriate for children.

The program is being sponsored by the guidance department of Burns Middle School. Advance registration is not required.

For more information, contact Chantay Taylor at BMS, [email protected] or 270-852-7400.
