Joe Ford Nature Center, Daviess County Audubon Society, and Ohio County Arts Guild present “Bugs and Blooms” Sunday, May 15 at Joe Ford Nature Center (JFNC) from 2 – 4 p.m.
Program Director, Adrienne Allen, says this is the third year for Bugs and Blooms. There will be live monarch butterflies, crafts, educational activities, and more.
“The live monarch butterflies will be in a 6ft by 9ft enclosure where guests can enter and have the monarchs around them,” Allen said.
Other activities include:
- Opportunities to learn about the anatomy of butterflies and caterpillars and their life cycle as well as an activity about what flowers need to grow. These activities are geared toward Pre-K thru early elementary.
- An activity about what flowers need to grow (These activities are geared toward Pre-K thru early elementary).
- The Daviess County Audubon Society will teach children how to use binoculars correctly for bird watching.
- The Ohio County Artist Guild will help children make tissue paper flowers and butterflies.
- Nature bingo.
- A bird feeder craft.
- Face painting.
Donations will be accepted. Proceeds support future events and programs at JFNC.
