Back Alley Musicals’ 2014-15 Season Tickets are on sale now for its fifth season that will include The Drowsy Chaperone, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Smoke on the Mountain, and Fiddler on the Roof. Season tickets are available for $85 by calling the Back Alley Musicals’ Box Office at (270) 925-4963.

The season opener, The Drowsy Chaperone, is a parody of American musical comedy of the 1920’s played to a man in a chair in his living room. It will be staged Thurs. – Sun., Nov. 13-16. Weeknight shows are at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday matinee is at 2 p.m. in the Jody Berry Theatre, Owensboro’s RiverPark Center. Music and lyrics for The Drowsy Chaperone are by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison; book is by Bob Martin and Don McKellar. It is licensed by Music Theatre International (MTI).

Coming to the BAM stage Thurs.- Sun., Feb. 26-Mar. 1, 2015, is The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a one-act musical comedy with an eclectic group of six quirky mid-pubescent adolescents who vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime at a Bee run by three equally quirky grown-ups. It is based on the book by Rachel Sheinkin and licensed by Music Theatre International (MTI). Several audience participants join the contestants on stage. Weeknight shows are at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday matinee is at 2 p.m. in the Jody Berry Theatre, RiverPark Center.

Smoke on the Mountain, a highly popular show that draws large audiences around the country, will be BAM’s spring production on Thurs. – Sun., April 9-12, 2015. The hilarious musical tells the story of a Saturday Night Gospel Sing at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in North Carolina’s Smoky Mountains with the Sanders Family in 1938. The story was written by Connie Ray and Allan Bailey and licensed by Samuel French, Inc. Weeknight shows are at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday matinee is at 2 p.m. in the Jody Berry Theatre, RiverPark Center.

BAM concludes its season with the 2015 summer musical, Fiddler on the Roof, which touches the audience with its humor, warmth and honesty. It tells the story of Tevye, a poor Russian dairyman, and his five daughters as he tries to maintain his family and Jewish traditions as outside influences encroach upon their lives. The music is by Jerry Bock; lyrics by Sheldon Harnick; book by Joseph Stein and licensed by Music Theatre International (MTI). The show will be in Cannon Hall, RiverPark Center on Sat., July 18, at 7:30 p.m.; Sun. July 19, at 2 p.m.; Sat. July 25, at 7:30 p.m., and Sun., July 26, at 2 p.m.

A season ticket is $85 and includes all four shows—a $20 savings over individual show ticket prices of $25 for adults for the first 3 shows and $30 for Fiddler on the Roof. Student tickets are $15 per show.
