This week at Friday After 5, the “We Are Family” theme continues as Big Rivers Electric powers up your weekend with Radiotronic, a 70s and 80s hit band, on the Jagoe Homes patio stage on the BB&T Plaza at the RiverPark Center. Lipbone Redding will play in the Atmos Energy Courtyard, DJ Shay will be mixing up some tunes for a fun dance party at the Legendary Party at the Pier at the Convention Center and on the AT&T “Your Thing” Overlook Stage you will find Lightly Blended performing an acoustic set. Plus enjoy the fun at the Kroger Street Fair’s with this week’s theme — Outdoor Addiction! Special guest, Dory, will make an appearance, courtesy of TDs Tuff Decisions and free balloon animals and popcorn for the kids and the FA5 Free Foto Booth for everyone! The US Bank Home Mortgage T-shirt cannon will be sending special t-shirts into the crowd. Friday After 5 is Where the Weekend Begins in downtown Owensboro.

Take a Kid Fishing | 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. | Panther Creek Park, Feather Landing Shelter
The fishing derby will be held from 9 – 11 a.m. with the awards ceremony to commence as soon as fishing is complete. There will also be a casting and reeling competition for all age divisions. Awards for most fish, largest, and smallest fish in each age division. Open to ages 3-15 years of age. Prizes will be given out to the age groups 3-5, 6-8, 9-11, 12-15. Wendell Foster 5K | 8 – 10:30 a.m. | Wendell Foster’s Young Meeting House
Join Wendell Foster for the inaugural Wendell Foster 5K competitive road race! The race will be an official timed event starting at Wendell Foster and traveling around the beautiful streets of downtown Owensboro. Athletes will compete for cash awards and nice age group medals. Runners, walkers, and running strollers for people with different abilities are all welcome to compete. Distance is 3.1 miles. Live on the Banks is a FREE, family event, open to the public, for all ages, and is presented by the City of Owensboro.
