For this issue’s featured home, we sought the help of Welborn Floral. In addition to supplying Owensboro with beautiful floral arrangements for weddings, funerals, and special occasions, Welborn’s also lends a hand to their clients with decorating for the holidays. Welborn’s was happy to help, and owner Dick Knight introduced us to Lois Tapp, whose home they had decorated just prior to this issue being printed. At the Tapp’s, Welborn’s took care of the heavy lifting on the outside, including the large wreath on the façade of the second story, above the front entry. Gold ribbon and greenery accent the painted brick posts that stand at the foot of the long driveway. And a thick green garland with large pinecones and burlap make an already-grand entrance event grander.
On the interior, Welborn’s lends a hand in putting up the tree. Most of the other decorations are hung by Lois and long-time friend, Linda Renfrow, who Lois says has a keen eye for decorating. And the fact that most of that décor matches the embellishments on the exterior is no coincidence, as Lois says that 99 percent of her interior decorations were purchased from Welborn’s through the years.
