During the next several weeks, Reid’s will be busy preparing for thousands of country music fans who will be flocking to Reid’s Orchard to see Hank Williams Jr., Charlie Daniels, and Brasher Bogue at this year’s Liquid Ninja Big O Music Festival on Saturday, August 16th.
“Our main responsibility is handling parking” says Kathy Reid. That means mowing hay in a couple fields and then mowing the grass so cars can park easily.” By now, they’ve got it down to an art. “We park all the cars facing one direction toward the exit,” Reid explains. Doing that really helps traffic flow after the concert is over. With the help of the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department and the use of two exits, their goal is to have all the cars gone within an hour after the show.
“We love to host Big O because Owensboro needs a place like this to have big shows,” Reid said. “And we have enough space to handle the crowd so it just makes sense to have it here.” In return, thousands of fans, many from out of town, see Reid’s Orchard for the first time every year.
