For those who need to see it to believe it, Owensboro Living took photos today of work being done on Gabes tower.
Environmental Demolition Group, based out of Erlanger, Kentucky, has been preparing the building for renovation since Monday.
According to an EDG supervisor on site, his crew has been tasked with interior demolition, which means they are removing all the drywall, ceilings, old windows and old electrical in the building – a project he says should take about three months.
“From everything that I’ve been told, the building is being renovated back into a hotel,” he said.
Progress is being made. Several industrial sized waste containers were being filled as workers cleared rooms on the second and third floors today.
