Brescia University rocks the Labor Day Weekend dance party as they welcome you and their class of 2019 to the riverfront for a Brescia Party tonight. The Rockin’ three-day weekend begins at 6:30 with “The Springs!” CMA’s Fest 2014 Up & Coming Artists, “The Springs” sets the weekend to music! This is your chance to see Nashville’s number one ranked young duo on the main music site ReverbNation, up close and in person. Both members of this amazing group are originally from Alabama. Now Nashville recording artists, they met while performing at the world-famous Bluebird Café in Nashville Tennessee. Male vocalists Stewart had won a Paramount “Star Search” competition at the age of 16, while the female singer of the duo, Holly, had made it to the third round of the preliminaries of NBC’s “The Voice” TV show. The Springs performances are a cross between Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood, offering something for everyone making for a sing-a-long crowd pleasing good time. This amazing duo performed their high energy country/southern rock shows with acts Hunter Hayes, Eric Church, Florida-Georgia Line, Jake Owen, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, Reba, and many other top artists. In a recent feature article in the Nashville Music Guide said: it “There Has Never Been A Duo This Good, This Young In Country Music”, ever! You’ll earn your PhD in fun at tonight’s big party. It’s our season finale! Don’t miss it. Friday After 5 is Where the Labor Day Weekend Begins! Thank you Brescia U! 6:30pm-10:00pm. Tonight’s Class Pre-Unions: Ohio County Class of 1995 and Owensboro High Class of 1980.

Kroger Street Fair
Tonight’s Theme: “Back to School”! It’s a special “Brescia Bash” night! Enjoy the newly opened Smother’s Park Riverfront with a special “spray ground” and Lazy Dayz play area, beautiful waterfalls and the Big O Signature Fountain. “Honey Bear & Tiger” are our special guests courtesy of TD’s Tuff Decisions costumes. Plus we’ll invite some lucky couples to compete in our Kroger Water Balloon Toss. Winning couple gets a Kroger Gift Card and a towel. The Welborn’s kids’ Hula-Hoop Contest is during the band’s break, too. Friends. Food. Fun. Free. You’ll find yourself browsing past artists and their works on the Riverfront. We’ll “Toast the Sunset” as it silhouettes the beautiful new Owensboro Riverfront. Thank you Kroger for sponsoring our street fair all season long!

Atmos Courtyard
Whipstitch Sallies – Thanks to Atmos Energy’s renovation, the Courtyard is a great venue with ambiance and tucked away in a romantic setting. Atmos Energy now goes the distance by sponsoring all of the entertainers in the Atmos Energy Courtyard to music each week.“Whipstitch Sallies ” sets the mood in the courtyard tonight with their Americana sound surrounded in Bluegrass! From Indianapolis, they’ve played dates in all of the surrounding states. Members: Allie Burbrink – acoustic guitar, banjo, harmonica, vocals Katie Burk – fiddle, vocals Kat Erickson – bass, vocals Sam Herrin – mandolin, acoustic guitar, vocals. Thank you Atmos Energy for sponsoring a summer of great music in the courtyard you created. 7:00pm – 10:00pm.

Don Moore Party at the Pier
Tonight’s season finale features “Whiskey Shivers!” It’s almost impossible to watch these guys perform more than a song or two without cracking a smile yourself. The band’s exuberance is contagious throughout their music. Whether they’re playing at a backyard house party in Texas, a punk-rock dive bar or a sprawling country music festival, crowds take notice. People put down their phones, pick up their drinks and start dancing. “Whiskey Shivers isn’t just the five of us on stage, it’s everybody in the room,” Fitzgerald says. “We try to bring everybody into the moment and get them to realize there’s no wall between us and the crowd. We’re all in this together, and we’re all here to have a good time. We’ll do our best to facilitate it, but it takes all of us to make it happen. When you start to feel that, you can’t help but feel a little attachment and become invested in the show. You realize, ‘Oh, I’m here to have good time too!’” Sounds like you’re in for quite a party tonight to kick off the three-day weekend! Tonight’s band is staying over courtesy of our newest downtown hotel, Holiday Inn Riverfront, home of “Another Broken Egg”. A great show without wristbands because just like Friday After 5, it’s free. Thanks to Don Moore Automotive. 7:30pm-11:00pm
