In celebration of March Madness, Brescia University is offering a fun way for local high schools to compete for $500 for their athletic department for the 2017-2018 school year.
“Barney’s Bracket Challenge” puts local high school mascots facing off against each other to see who can get the most votes on Facebook. The mascot with the most votes receives $500 for their school’s athletic department.
Nominations will be taken starting at 2 p.m. today (March 20, 2017). To nominate, visit Brescia’s Facebook page, find the Barney’s Bracket Challenge post from 2 p.m. (March 20) and comment the name the high school and the coinciding mascot’s name you would like to nominate.
According to official Barney Bracket rules, only high schools in Daviess and surrounding counties are eligible.
Brackets will then be made according to the highest number of nominations. Comments and “likes” will be tabulated. Nominations will be accepted until noon Friday, March 24, 2017. Finalists will be seeded based on number of votes and opposing schools will then compete head-to-head through another round of voting. Highest vote receiver advances until the “championship round” and the overall winner gets $500.
