Hang in there folks. They’re making process. The crews painted lines on the newly repaved westbound lanes of US60 (former “bypass”) between 231 and Parrish this week.
Further down US 60, the Transportation Cabinet released a statement today explaining the need for restricted traffic along the exit 19 ramp to KY 603/Pleasant Valley Road (the hospital exit.)
Starting Friday, October 23, 2015, the contractor will be restricting traffic to one lane along KY 603/The Pleasant Valley Road Connector (which is the new lane just past the 54 exit that takes you to the Pleasant Valley Road exit) and Pleasant Valley Road to start work on additional turn lanes and a new traffic signal on the north side of the interchange.
The contractor will be constructing a left turn lane for northbound traffic from KY 603/The Pleasant Valley Road Connector to Pleasant Valley Road and a left turn lane from Pleasant Valley Road onto KY 603/The Pleasant Valley Road Connector southbound.
The extra turn lanes are being added to provide more capacity to improve traffic flow during peak travel periods. The work is expected to be completed in late-December, weather permitting.
In addition to the lane restriction, there may be frequent traffic shifts at this intersection to facilitate the work. Motorists should allow extra travel time as delays are possible, particularly during peak travel periods.
This is in addition to ongoing work along the eastbound US 60 exit ramp on the south side of the interchange.
