Spring Break Activities at the Museum

There is plenty to do in Owensboro for those in town during spring break, and the Owensboro Museum of Science and History is no exception.

Tuesday, April 5  

11:00 a.m. – Jeff Lyons and the 14WFIE Interceptor Car
14WFIE’s Chief Meteorologist will share the scoop on our spring weather and show some of the tools we use to forecast it.  Patrons can also check out the new 14 WFIE Weather Interceptor vehicle that is equipped with special cameras and other equipment that tracks storms and reports live from the field when we have severe weather!

1:00 p.m. – Cave Scavenger Hunt

3:00 p.m. – Coal Mine Tour

Wednesday, April 6

11:00 a. m. –  “Wild About Woodpeckers”
Discover the common Kentucky woodpecker and traits that make them unique in the bird world. Mary Kissel with the Daviess County Audubon Society

11:30 a.m. – Paint a birdhouse to take home for your yard!

1:00 p.m. – Cave Scavenger Hunt

3:00 p.m. – Coal Mine Tour

Thursday, April 7

11:00 a.m.  – Cartoon Fitness with Sponge Bob and Kids in the Kitchen
Join the Junior League of Owensboro’s Kids in the Kitchen program at the Owensboro Museum of Science and History on spring break!! We will be doing Cartoon fitness! These easy fitness activities for kids make exercise so much fun that your children won’t notice they’re working out. When you motivate children to exercise, they’ll be happier, healthier, and more focused. Our cartoon theme will be SpongeBob And we will be having some yummy underwater snacks for your children to try!

1:00 p.m. – Cave Scavenger Hunt

2:00 p.m. – Snake Talk with museum’s Corn Snake

3:00 p.m.  – Coal Mine Tour

 Friday, April 8

10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Maker’s Demo Day
Stop by the Bob Darling’s Maker’s Table and investigate a 3-D printer, 3-D camera and all sorts of tools you can use to turn your imagination into reality!

1:00 p.m. – Cave Scavenger Hunt

3:00 p.m. – Coal Mine Tour
