The Empowerment Academy Board of Directors will host “In a Perfect World,”  a fundraiser luncheon sponsored by Specialty Food Group at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, at the Owensboro Convention Center.

Empowerment Academy Chair David Boswell will present welcoming remarks before introducing featured speakers Selena Coalter and United States Senator Rand Paul.

The purpose of the event is to increase awareness about teens in our community who are homeless, couch-hopping and/or otherwise living in challenging situations and in need of long-term housing, life skills training and educational encouragement and to raise funds for renovation of Saint Angela Hall on the Ursuline campus at Maple Mount.

“The Empowerment Academy Board is dedicated to securing resources to support our local teens in need of safe, long-term housing and we are truly thankful that Ms. Coalter and Senator Paul are taking time out of their busy Thanksgiving Holiday schedules to help us share the mission of the Empowerment Academy,” – David Boswell, Chair of the Empowerment Academy Board of Directors

Masonic Lodges 130 and 957 and will be presenting a check to the Empowerment Academy during the event. The Masonic Lodges held a golf scramble to benefit the Empowerment Academy on October 24, 2015.
