The Good Manners Club is premiering the first annual Holiday Afternoon Tea at The Campbell Club on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, from 2 – 4 p.m.
Families will be invited to share in this royal event, hosted by Kentucky’s Etiquette Lady, Valarie Roberts, who will tell about the rich history that surrounds afternoon tea etiquette.
Originally, the time was set for 3 – 5 p.m., but organizers chose to move the time back an hour to accommodate for the Owensboro Christmas Parade. “This way, people can come to the tea, have some fun, hear some music, and then walk downtown to watch the parade,” Roberts said.
The Campbell Club, 517 Frederica, is open to the public for this event only.
Local pianist, Evalyn Champion, will enchant guests with a holiday sing-a-long, and executive chef, Matt Weafer, has planned a charming three-course traditional tea service menu with teas provided by Midtown Gourmet Specialties.
In the spirit of giving, 100% of the profits from this event will be donated to CASA. “We hope to choose a different charity every year to support with the proceeds from this annual event,” said Valarie Roberts.
