Registration is now open for the Owensboro Youth Hockey Association’s 2016-17 House League Season.
Registrations will be accepted online at owensborohockey.com through October 1st. Early bird discounts are available through August 31, followed by regular registration in September. Late registration will begin October 1.
Registration fees are as follows:
ADM ages 4 through 8 years old:
- 1st-year player is only $50.
- Returning players are
- Early Bird Registration $100,
- Regular Registration $150,
- Late Registration $175
Upper House ages 9 through 13 years:
- 1st-year player is only $99;
- Returning Players are
- Early Bird Registration $225,
- Regular Price $250,
- Late Registration $275.
High School ages 14 through 18years:
- 1st year players or Rampage Players playing House League, only $75 this season.
- High School House League has no practices only games and end of season tournament.
- High School Returning 13 to 18-year-old players,
- Early Bird Registration $100
- Regular Price $125,
- Late Registration $150
The league is open to boys and girls ages 4 through 18 years of age. All practices and games take place at the Edge Ice Center, 1400 Hickman Avenue, next to the Owensboro Sportscenter. Practices begin in October, followed by games starting in November, and finish with in-house tournaments in March.

Tae Kwon Do
Maximize your child’s self-confidence and motor skills by signing him/her up for Owensboro Parks and Recreation Fall Jr. Tae Kwon Do Lessons.
Participants will learn the basics of the ancient art of Tae Kwon Do while also improving their mind and body. The program offers a great opportunity for youth to improve their coordination and motor skills in an energetic, fun atmosphere and also help them develop flexibility, stamina, strength, energy, self-confidence, and balance.
All classes will meet at the Owensboro Parks and Recreation Administrative Center gymnasium, located at 1530 McJohnson Avenue. Classes are available for youth ages 5 through 8 and also ages 9 through 12.
Cost per participant is $30 and includes a t-shirt. The class will meet on Saturday mornings starting October 15 through November 19; registration deadline is September 30. 5-8-year-old class will be offered at 9-9:45 a.m. The 9-12-year-old class will take place from 10-10:45 a.m.

Fall Coed Volleyball
The Owensboro Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting registrations for the 2016 Fall Coed Volleyball League.
Teams must consist of six players (with at least two women). Teams may register for one of the following league nights:
- Monday or Tuesday (Coed Recreational League)
- Thursday (Intermediate League)
Players must be 16 or older to participate. All games will take place at the Owensboro Parks and Recreation Administrative Center gymnasium located at 1530 McJohnson Avenue.
The deadline to register is Friday, September 23. League play is scheduled to begin the week of Monday, October 3. The entry fee per team is $130 and is due at time of registration.
There will be a Mandatory Team Captains’ Meeting on Thursday, September 29 at 5:30p.m.at the Owensboro Parks and Recreation
Administrative Center.

September Learn To Skate Sessions
The City of Owensboro’s Edge Ice Center is accepting registrations for its September session of Learn-to-Skate classes. The Learn-to-Skate program is part of the ISI’s (Ice Skating Institute) WeSkate program, the nation’s largest recreational ice skating organization.
Classes are available for all ages and abilities, from tots to adults and are held once a week on Tuesday’s beginning September 13 through October 4.
Hockey Lessons are on Wednesdays starting September 14 through October 5 at 5 p.m. Class levels and times are available at www.owensboroparks.org.
The registration deadline is Friday, September 2. Class fees are $30 per person, and include 30 minutes of practice ice time before each session except for the 6:00-6:30 p.m. class time which has 30 minutes of practice ice time before the each lesson begins.
