With school starting back Wednesday, August 10, 2016, Owensboro Parks and Recreation facilities are beginning fall hours.
Smothers Park
The Smothers Park concession stand hours of operation will change beginning August 10 due to school being back in session.
Hours are as follows:
Monday – Friday ………………………4 – 8 p.m.
Saturdays and Sundays………..……11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
During Fall Break, October 10-14, the concession stand will be open daily from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Smothers Park is the perfect place to bring your family and friends to have fun for everyone.

Dugan Best
The Dugan Best Recreation Center will resume its ‘schools in session’ operating hours on Wednesday, August 10.
Hours are as follows:
- Monday – Friday from 2:30 to 7 p.m.
- Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- closed on Sunday.
There are no membership/registration fees or residency requirements to use the recreation center; however parents or guardians will be required to complete a participant information card prior to their child’s first visit. Children under eight years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 17 years or older.
The Dugan Best Recreation Center is located at 1003 Omega Street and includes a gymnasium, computer and game stations, game room, kitchen, and fitness room.
