The Owensboro Symphony Orchestra is hosting a regional talent competition titled, “Stars Among Us”. Winners will be given the opportunity to perform with the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra at the US BANK HOME MORTGAGE Concert on the Lawn on August 8, 2015, at 7:00 PM, on the front lawn of Kentucky Wesleyan College.

The “Stars Among Us” competition will provide a venue for emerging regional musical artists to showcase their talent and encourage them to continue to develop their musical abilities. “We want to both promote and showcase local talent, while providing a meaningful and competitive opportunity.” said Music Director and Conductor, Nick Palmer.

A winner will be selected from three categories: Youth (14 yrs and under), Young Adult (15-22 yrs) and Adult (23 yrs and up). The selection process will be made by a panel of local judges that includes Randy Lanham, local bluegrass legend, Jason Tanner of Owensboro Living, 92.5 WBKR radio personality, Cad Benefield, and Nick Palmer.

Instrumental and vocal contestants must submit an audition application along with a $35 registration fee before 11:59 PM on Friday, July 3, 2015 to: The Owensboro Symphony Orchestra, Attn: Greg Olson, 211 East Second Street, Owensboro, Kentucky 42303. All applicants will then be contacted via e-mail regarding the audition process.

Audition Application and additional information is available at TheOSO.com and the Owensboro Symphony’s Facebook page.
