The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to restrict traffic to one lane on KY 81 in southern Daviess County on Wednesday morning, September 30, 2015.
The lane restriction at KY 81 mile point 6.5 is to allow a detailed inspection of the Panther Creek Bridge. Inspection of this truss bridge will require a climb team, as well as a bucket truck on the bridge to reach the upper chords.
Motorists should be prepared to encounter one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers between about 9 a.m., CDT, and about 1:00 p.m., Wednesday.
Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and inspection personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
All Kentucky bridges get a detailed inspection every two years. Long-span bridges over lakes and rivers get an additional walk-through safety inspection annually.
