Dr. Sherman, a board-certified family medicine physician, has been in private practice in Rockport, Indiana. His clinic has joined One Health as of Sept. 1, 2015.
Dr. Sherman is a native of Brooklyn, New York and has been practicing in Rockport since 1992. Prior to that, he practiced medicine in Corbin, Ky. Dr. Sherman completed his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree at the New York College of Medicine. He also completed a family practice internship in Flint, Michigan.
After 23 years as a small-town physician, Dr. Sherman said he’s come to enjoy relationships that form with patients and their families.
“I really enjoy the families, seeing the kids growing up. You’ve helped them, given them a lot of advice,” Dr. Sherman said. “My family is very important to me. I’ve always been a family man. I just enjoy working with families, helping them achieve whatever goals in life they want.”
And ultimately, joining the health system guarantees stability and quality care for his patients, he said.
“I’m hoping that they’re going to help me stay in practice as long as I’m healthy enough. I want to stay in Rockport and finish out my career.” Dr. Sherman said.
