Hilliard Lyons did their homework when they started the Health and Fitness Classic. “We looked at the national statistics on health issues and obesity, especially in children,” said Hilliard Lyons Branch Manager Rick Hobgood. “People aren’t getting exercise like we were generations ago. Society has changed and we’ve got to step up. So this is our way to get people moving.”
This Saturday, September 12, the sixth annual Hilliard Lyons Health and Fitness Classic will take place downtown, giving people of all ages and levels of fitness a chance to “get moving” with a 5K and 10K run across the Blue Bridge, a fun run for kids, and a bridge walk.
Owensboro Family YMCA, the City of Owensboro and the Owensboro Convention and Visitors Bureau also sponsor the event.
