Owensboro Community & Technical College is proud to begin their 10th consecutive year serving citizens in our region by participating in Free Tax Preparation. Citizens earning $57,000 or less are eligible. The service is available every Tuesday through Thursday from 1 – 7 p.m. through April 15, 2015. Interested citizens should visit room 14D at OCTC’s Downtown Campus, 1501 Frederica Street. The service is open to the public on a first come, first serve basis, no appointments needed.
This service is conducted by volunteer Certified Tax Professionals, who will prepare Individual Tax Returns for Wage Earners and the Self Employed.
Eligible returns include but are not limited too; Earned Income Credit, Child Tax Credit, Dependent Care Credit, and Education Credit. This service is not available for those tax payers with Farm Income, Rental Property, Sale of Stocks, Bonds or Real Estate, nor Loss of Casualty, Theft or Fire.
Participants should bring a picture ID for Taxpayer and/or Spouse; Social Security Cards for Taxpayer (Spouse) and all Dependents; Income Statements (W2’s, 1099’s, Unemployment, Social Security, cash income, etc.); Deductions (Mortgage Statement, Charitable Receipts, Taxes, etc.); Proof of Dependent Care Expenses in 2012
Proof of Education Expenses (1098T, Account statement from the college, and Book Receipts, etc.); Personal Bank Account & Routing Number for Direct Deposit
