The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to activate a new traffic signal along KY 54/Leitchfield Road in Owensboro on Thursday, October 26, 2017.

This new traffic signal along KY 54/Leitchfield Road at the intersection with Hayden Road and Alvey Park Drive is expected to go into full green-yellow-red mode on Thursday after the morning commuter rush.

This new traffic signal on KY 54 near the 3-mile marker has been in flashing mode since October 19th to allow motorists to become familiar with the location.  Motorists who regularly travel this section of KY 54/Leitchfield Road should be prepared for changes in traffic flow the new signal will bring to this intersection when it is fully activated.

This new traffic signal is to assist with traffic flow at what will be the entrance to the new Gateway Commons Development along Hayden Road between KY 54 and KY 603/Pleasant Valley Road.

Again, this new signal is expected to go into normal operation on THURSDAY morning, October 26, 2017.  Traffic signals along this section of KY 54/Leitchfield Road have been on timers.  As crews have time, they will be reconnecting sensors at signalized intersections to allow more efficient traffic flow.

Timely traffic advisories for the 11 counties of KYTC Highway District 2 are available by going to facebook.com/kytcdistrict2. You do not have to be a Facebook member to access this page.
